Vanessa Tablecloth machine embroidery design

Vanessa Tablecloth machine embroidery design is approximately 42 inches square. For this project you will need to have 44 inches square linen fabric for the tablecloth and approximately 20 x44 inches linen for the boarder prewashed and pressed. Embroider the following boarder pieces:

• 4 of Vanessa_01_04 (corner piece),
• 12 of Vanessa_01_05,
• 16 of Vanessa_01_06,

Once you have embroidered all Vanessa boarder pieces cut excess stabilizer and connect them together as shown on diagram 1. DO NOT wash off the stabilizer yet! 

Now embroider all internal designs on your linen. Diagram 2 is showing where to place internal design elements. Print all design templates so that you can correctly mark center of each design on the cloth. Start with Vanessa_01_01 corner element. The first check points on the first corner design are for your following design alignment, so ignore it for now. Ignore thread change #1, #2 and start with #3 (only for your first corner element, you will need the check points for the rest of them). Follow color chart for further detailed instructions. Vanessa_01_07 and 01_08 are the last design elements to embroider. After you are done embroidering all elements on the cloth place stitched together boarder on your square linen fabric refer to diagram 1. Attach it with pins or basting stitch and start sewing boarder to fabric with straight stitch first. Trim excess fabric from the back and use zigzag stitch all around. For your final pass use satin stitch. Once you are finished you can wash off stabilizer, flat dry and press from the back. Vanessa is ready for display!

4. STOP (do not change the thread) remove hoop and cutout windows on your linen, cut close to the stitch so that it doesn't fray, be careful not to cut the stabilizer. Continue embroidery

Vanessa_01_02. 10792 stitches, 148.8 mm x 137.7 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Use the template and mark right position of design element 01_02 on the cloth. Place linen onto stabilizer and sew basting stitch to hold fabric in place. Start embroidery:

1. Ecru (checkpoint, down up)
2. Ecru (checkpoint, down up)
3. Ecru perimeter stitch line
4. STOP (do not change the thread) remove hoop and cutout windows on your linen, cut close to the stitch so that it doesn't fray, be careful not to cut the stabilizer. Continue embroidery

7. Pink
8. Yellow
9. Light blue

Vanessa_01_03. 9782 stitches, 82.5 mm x 214.2 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Use the template and mark right position of design element 01_03 on the cloth. Place linen onto stabilizer and sew basting stitch to hold fabric in place. Start embroidery:

1. Ecru (checkpoint, down up)
2. Ecru (checkpoint, down up)
3. Ecru perimeter stitch line
4. STOP (do not change the thread) remove hoop and cutout windows on your linen, cut close to the stitch so that it doesn't fray, be careful not to cut the stabilizer. Continue embroidery

Vanessa_01_04 Boarder. 4831 stitches, 55.6 mm 55.1 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Place linen onto stabilizer and sew the basting stitch to hold fabric. Start embroidery:

1. Ecru
2. STOP – (do not change the thread) place fabric appliqué (same linen as tablecloth) and continue to sew
3. STOP – Cut away excess fabric and continue to sew
4. White
5. Light blue
6. Yellow

Vanessa_01_05 Boarder. 6167 stitches, 56.9 mm x 60.8 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Place linen onto stabilizer and sew the basting stitch to hold fabric. Start embroidery:

1. Ecru
2. STOP – (do not change the thread) place fabric appliqué (same linen as tablecloth) and continue to sew
3. STOP – Cut away excess fabric and continue to sew (same as diagram B)
4. White
5. Light blue
6. Yellow

Vanessa_01_06 Boarder . 11288 stitches, 47.1 mm x 202.7 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Place linen onto stabilizer and sew the basting stitch to hold fabric. Start embroidery:

1. Ecru
2. STOP – (do not change the thread) place fabric appliqué (same linen as tablecloth) and continue to sew
3. STOP – Cut away excess fabric and continue to sew (same as diagram B)
4. White
5. Light pink
6. Yellow
7. Light blue

Vanessa_01_07. 8532 stitches, 121.3 mm x 169.9 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Use the template and mark right position of design element 01_07 on the cloth. Place linen onto stabilizer and sew basting stitch to hold fabric in place. Start embroidery:

1. Ecru
2. White
3. Light blue
4. Light pink
5. Yellow

Vanessa_01_08. 8877 stitches, 136.2 mm x 193 mm. Hoop one layers of water-soluble stabilizer (Vilene). Use the template and mark right position of design element 01_08 on the cloth. Place linen onto stabilizer and sew basting stitch to hold fabric in place. Start embroidery.

Our tablecloth Vanessa is showing initials "EN" in each corner of the cloth, you may choose your initials for your project. Alphabet is not included with EN027.
